Scan Result TypesGlobalyzer scans for various kinds of internationalization issues. To select which types of scans to run, select Scan=>Manage Scans, choose a Scan to modify, and then navigate to the Globalyzer Scanning page. Check one or more of the types of detections, described next. Embedded StringsEmbedded Strings are the words and messages that are displayed to the user. They must be extracted from source code for ease of translation and maintainability. Globalyzer will detect strings, applying the filters that you set up for the Scan's Rule Set. Select Project=>View Globalyzer Rule Sets and then modify the various Embedded String Scan Rules for the Scan's associated Rule Set. Locale-Sensitive MethodsLocale-Sensitive Methods are specific methods that could have internationalization issues. Your Scan's Rule Sets are preconfigured with locale-sensitive methods to detect, but you can add or remove methods by selecting Project=>View Globalyzer Rule Sets and then modifying the Locale-Sensitive Method Scan Rules of the Scan's associated Rule Set. Click on a programming language for more information about the Locale-Sensitive Methods that Globalyzer detects: The C++ Programming Language The C# Programming Language The Delphi Programming Language The Java Programming Language The Visual Basic Classic Programming Language The VB.NET Programming Language General PatternsGeneral Patterns allow you to fully customize Globalyzer Scans. You can scan for any text in your source code. Select Project=>View Globalyzer Rule Sets and then modify the General Pattern Scan Rules of the Scan's associated Rule Set. Static File ReferencesStatic File References are references in the source code to files that may have locale-sensitive attributes. For example, image files with text or stylesheet files with font styles that may need to be changed for a different language. Globalyzer detects these references based on the settings in the Scan's Rule Set. You can customize this detection by selecting Project=>View Globalyzer Rule Sets and then modifying the Static File Reference Scan Rules of the Scan's associated Rule Set.
